MEMBERSHIP FAQ
Monthly memberships start at $5 per month. These memberships renew automatically each year and include any additional household members you would like to add.
Annual memberships start at $35 for individuals and $65 for households. Household memberships cover everyone living at the same address, with no limit on the number of members included.
Your membership supports safer streets, better bike infrastructure, and more confident riders across the East Bay.
Joining or renewing is quick and easy, with several options to choose from:
- Online: Join or renew your membership using your credit card or Apple Pay at bikeeastbay.org/join.
- Mail: If you prefer to give by mail, you can send a check to Bike East Bay at PO Box 1736, Oakland, CA 94604
- Giving through your family foundation, workplace, retirement account, or donor-advised fund: We also accept third-party contributions toward your membership. Donors can give through a family foundation fund, schedule disbursements from retirement accounts, or select us as a beneficiary on charitable giving platforms. Some employers will also match your gift, so you can double your impact!
To make sure your gift is properly credited, please include your name and email address with your donation whenever possible, or reach out to us, and we’ll be happy to connect it to your account.
Yes! Bike East Bay is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (EIN 94-2585652), and membership contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We recommend consulting with a tax professional for guidance on your specific situation.
You’ll receive an email copy of your donation receipt within two week of your donation. Monthly donors will receive email receipts monthly, as well as a summary receipt at the end of the year. If you need documentation mailed to you for your records or can’t find your email receipt, please reach out at membership@bikeeastbay.org.

The Monthly Giving Circle is a community of dedicated supporters who sustain Bike East Bay’s work through recurring monthly donations. More than 700 people are already part of this group, helping provide the steady support we need to plan ahead and keep up the work year-round. Yes! Every summer, Bike East Bay offers a sliding scale membership campaign where you can join at any amount over $1 that feels meaningful to you. We’ll announce it through email and social media, so keep an eye out.
Additionally, we offer a complimentary membership to individuals who volunteer 10 or more hours within a calendar year. Find volunteer opportunities here.
Absolutely. We accept workplace giving, donor-advised fund grants, and foundation gifts.
Since these donations often come through third-party platforms, it’s important to include your name and email address whenever possible so we can correctly attribute the gift to your membership. If that isn’t possible, you’re always welcome to contact us directly to ensure your contribution is recognized.
