WE'RE HIRING: Bike Valet attendant

Position

Bike East Bay is hiring Bike Valet Attendants to provide bike parking at community and public events. Bike valet helps encourage more people to ride, provides equitable access to community events, and serves as an engagement opportunity for Bike East Bay.

This would be a great position for someone who is friendly, energetic, and wants to support more people riding bikes. In this position, you will be supervised by Bike East Bay’s Engagement Coordinator and will work alongside Bike East Bay volunteers at bike valet events.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Transportation of all valet equipment to and from event sites
  • Setup and breakdown of the valet area at events
  • Representing Bike East Bay and ensuring all signage and outreach materials are displayed
  • Working with volunteers at events to securely check in, tag/identify, and store bikes
  • Relaying feedback from events to the Engagement Coordinator

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Commitment to providing a high-quality Bike Valet experience for all participants
  • Ability to train and manage volunteers
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to social and racial justice and to Bike East Bay’s mission
  • Comfortable working outdoors
  • General knowledge of bike brands, makes and models
  • Ability to lift 25-60 pounds (required)
  • Ability to lift bikes and put them on bike valet rack ~4 feet off the ground (required)
  • Valid CA driver’s license

This is a part-time, non-exempt position with a rate of $25/hr. This is an event-based, seasonal position (most events April – November). Ideally Bike Valet Attendants would work 1-3 events per week, shifts permitting.

To apply: Interested applicants should submit a resume (including two references) and a statement of interest (1-2 paragraphs explaining your interest in the role) by email to Valet@BikeEastBay.org. Please include “Bike Valet Attendant” and your name in the subject line. Attendants are expected to attend a mandatory, in-person training session in mid-late February. Priority deadline for applications is January 30, 2026.
