Teams Forming for Team Bike Challenge

You don’t have to bike alone on Bike to Work Day-gather your friends, neighbors, and coworkers and pedal as a team to win. It’s a fun and easy way to see just how much biking does for your health, budget, and the environment. The Team Bike Challenge is a month-long challenge to bike as often a you can.

Teams of 2-5 people sign up and earn points all month long. Teams with the most points at the end of May win great prizes. Bike to Work Day is Thursday, May 9, 2013, but the Team Bike Challenge goes on all month long during May and is a great opportunity to take advantage of all the new bike lanes that cities have striped in the East Bay.

How Does Team Bike Challenge Work?

  • 1: Form a team of 2-5 people.
  • 2: Earn points for your total daily mileage. Record your trips at: www.teambikechallenge.com. You can also earn bonus points for completing various medal challenges, such as biking enough miles to burn a total pizza’s worth of calories.
  • 3: Win! At the end of the month, the team with the most amounts of points wins great prizes.
Prizes are a gift certificate from REI for a class or bike tune-up, a Balance Bar prize pack, and a limited edition tee.

If your team is associated with a business and has too many cyclists to fit onto one team, then join the Company Bike Challenge. Everyone at your workplace competes for top honors against similar sized companies in the Bay Area. Open to the public. Full details at: www.teambikechallenge.com
