Bike East Bay ride:
- Meet at 10:00am, MacArthur BART
We’ll gather at MacArthur BART at 10:00am, then meet up with Oakland Public Library friends and ride together on the Bay Bridge path. After a picnic brunch together, our group will continue on the Bay Trail up to Richmond, with stops at Albany Bulb and Marina Park. From there, we’ll head back on the Ohlone Greenway, ending at North Berkeley BART. Riders also have the option to shorten the ride by heading to a BART station along the Ohlone Greenway.
Oakland Public Library Rides:
Meet at Chavez at 9:45AM; depart 10:00AM
Meet at Main Library at 10:00AM, depart 10:15AM
Meet at West Oakland at 10:15AM, depart 10:30AM
Meet at Golden Gate at 10:15AM; depart 10:30AM
The Oakland Public Library is leading rides from several library branches to the newly renovated Bridge Yard Building. Ride with us from Chavez, Main, West Oakland, or Golden Gate branches - or meet us at the Bridge Yard Building at 11:00am for a jaunt up the bike path. (There’s a large parking lot next to the building.) Adventurous spirits can ride all the way to Treasure Island!
We will reconvene at the Bridge Yard Building around 12:30 for brunch, beverages, and insider info on the new East Bay Gateway Regional Shoreline. After brunch, riders will disperse, although some groups may ride to BART together (no group rides back to the branches). Join us for all or part of the day.
