DUBLIN — A new trail link between Dublin and Pleasanton will open Saturday, clearing the way for easier bike and foot travel between the two cities. The East Bay Regional Park District and other agencies will dedicate and debut the $2.4 million Alamo Canal trail link. Located just east of the junction of Interstates 580 and 680, it is the first non-motorized hiking and riding trail crossing under I-580 in the Tri-Valley.
This project is a huge deal for people who don’t want to share the roads with cars,” said Dave Campbell, program manager for the East Bay Bicycle Coalition. “This trail link will be used by a lot of people, adults, families with children, for short and long trips.
