Walk Oakland Bike Oakland is reviving it’s ‘Ride Like a Girl’ series to help build bike skills and confidence for women, trans, femme and non-binary folks who want to go Bike Camping! Join them for their 2026 workshop series and bike camping event. All workshops and camping trip have a suggested donation of $15.
Here’s the entire series outline: the event you’re looking at is the one in purple text!
- Saturday, April 18, 1 – 2 pm: Learn it! A classroom workshop to learn about bike camping, what it is, what you need, and how to get ready for bike camping with us the last weekend of June. Oakland Main Library 125 14th Street (Community room)
- Saturday, May 9, 3 -4 pm: Try it! A hands on workshop to review gear and try bicycling with a load on your bike. Oakland Main Library 125 14th Street (Community room)
- Tuesday, June 2, 5 – 6 pm OR Sunday, June 7, 1 – 2 pm: Plan it! Required logistics overview session for the bike camping trip. We’ll share trip details, tip sheets, and open the floor for gear swaps. Sports Basement 2727 Mivlia Street Berkeley
- June 27 – 28: Bike Camping Weekend – Go Camping! (Coyote Hills Regional Park, Fremont) – campers must first attend a Plan it! workshop to prepare for the trip.
