Join Major Taylor Bay Area and Sports Basement for the 5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration Ride — a daytime ride in celebration of Black joy, freedom, and community.
Juneteenth falls on a Friday this year, so we’re doing a morning-to-midday ride — colorful outfits encouraged, no lycra required. Add lights to your bike, bring a speaker, and let’s make this a rolling celebration of liberation. All paces welcome; this is a no-drop ride.
The ride
- SB Berkeley → Oakland → Lake Merritt and back
- View the official route on Strava
Hang with us until 4:00 PM for food, drinks, and community time back at the store. Local food trucks on-site: Alemena’s, Stewie’s, Yummies World, Try Dat
Spring Energy and Skratch Labs will be on-site with free samples pre-ride.
Family-friendly, but we’ll be on open roads. Kids should be confident riders who can handle the distance. Ride smart, look out for each other, and flag down our MTBA crew if you need anything.
