A Biking Solution to Tesla’s Parking Problem

Author: bcomadmin

Date: April 14, 2017

Tesla has been making news recently, and not because of their latest tech innovation but because of a problem as old as — well, cars. It turns out, Tesla’s Fremont and Palo Alto offices have a parking problem. Photos from Instagram account @teslaparkinglot (now removed) show chaos in the parking lots as 6,000 employees compete for 4,500 parking spaces at the Fremont plant.

With the brand new Warm Springs BART station a cool ten minute bike ride away from the Fremont factory, we figure some employees may be able to avoid the parking mayhem. In addition, Tesla offers employees $5 for every day they bike to work, is opening a brand new bike cage ahead of Bike to Work Day, and has showers available for long-haul bicyclists.

Try it out! Pledge to ride on Bike to Work Day, May 11. There are even energizer stations where you can get your free Bike to Work Day bag and goodies at both BART stations, the Tesla factory, Clubsport Fremont, the Dumbarton Bridge, and Kaiser Permanente.

Not feeling ready to ride just yet? We have two Urban Cycling 101 classes scheduled in Fremont. Sign up today!
