Feature Presentation: Why so many people bicycle in Stockholm and Copenhagen

Svante was born and grew up in Västerås, Sweden and came to the US and the Bay Area together with his wife in 1981. He has spent a lot of time in Stockholm and Copenhagen. He will share his background in Sweden and Denmark and some stories from there and particularly why people are biking, and bike commuting, so much all year around. Svante currently works as a Consultant and Proj Manager for Vinnova, a Swedish company, and has some great ideas about how to get many more Americans to commute on bikes. Coming along for your enjoyment is Svante’s Danish-style Pederson bicycle.

The photo is the bike commuter parking in my hometown Västerås at the Train station. Commuters commute to Stockholm about an hour away.
