Bike East Bay seeks energetic board members committed to forwarding our mission of promoting healthy, sustainable communities by making bicycling safe, fun and accessible. Bike East Bay’s board of directors provide strategic and financial oversight for the organization. Board members play a key role in fundraising and supporting staff as volunteers and advisors. Currently, we are seeking new board members with skills in organizational development, foundation fundraising, financial strategy, and human resources. All board members bring or are committed to developing a strong understanding of social justice and racial equity issues in relation to transportation and urban planning. You’ll also work alongside your amazing fellow board members.

Commitment

Starting April 1, 2023, as a board member, you commit to the following:

Serve a three year term,

Attend 4 board meetings (every quarter) and an annual retreat,

Serve on at least one committee (Governance, Fundraising, Advocacy or Special Projects) and attend monthly committee meetings,

Raise at least $1,000 through a combination of participating in Bike East Bay fundraising efforts and by donating at a personally significant level,

Support, promote and grow Bike East Bay’s mission and social justice values, and
-
Uphold your legal and fiduciary duties as a board member.

Transportation justice is an essential part of our work as bicycle advocates and we are committed to working for equity and social justice.
