Take A Head Trip with the Bicycle Coalition: Movie Night at July's Member Meeting

It's time for a summer blockbuster featuring bicycles. So,for this month's member meeting, the Bicycle Coalition screening Head Trip (2004) by John Law and Flecher Fleudujon. If you went to our Bike Away from Work Party this year or last year, you'll recognize some of the stars: Cyclecide Heavy Pedal Bike Rodeo is just one of the unique acts featured in this one-of-a-kind road trip movie.

Volunteer this Friday: EBBC Valet Bike Parking at Best of the East Bay Party

August 6, 2010 - 5:00pm to 11:00pm

On August 6, the East Bay Express celebrates its winners of the 2010 Best of the East Bay readers’ poll and editors’ picks all along the Jack London Square waterfront. Over 20,000 guests are expected to attend and salute the best ideas, products and services that are borne out of the East Bay region.

Last year, the Bicycle Coalition crowned the Best of the East Bay Party the *most pedalicious* event of the year - we parked tons of bicycles! We’ll be doing valet bike parking again in 2010, and now we know: we need lots of volunteers at this rockin’ party to park a multitude of bikes. Register to volunteer here. We especially need volunteers for the second and third shifts. Thank you!

EBBC Volunteer Night

Roll on down to EBBC's volunteer night. You'll get a chance to see our brand new member welcome packets, and you'll also help out thanking all the sponsors that made Bike to Work Day Possible. With just an hour of envelope stuffing, you can really help make EBBC tick. Plus, you'll be in the good company of fellow bicyclists, and as always, dinner is on us. No need to RSVP.

You’ll hear Bike to Work Day highlights from all around the East Bay from Dave Campbell, EBBC Program Director. EBBC General Meeting

June 16, 2010 - 7:30pm to 9:15pm

Ever wanted to fix your own bike? Want to find out who accepts bike donations? This month, EBBC Education Coordinator and Cycles of Change staff member, Isaac Rodriguez, will be facilitating a panel with local bicycle community organizations throughout the East Bay. Find out what these groups are doing to encourage bicycling at the grassroots level, where their shops are located, and how you can get involved. You'll here from well established groups that have paved the way as well as groups have recently formed.

EBBC Outreach Training

May 11, 2010 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Come to the EBBC Outreach Training, and you'll have the opportunity to find out everything you ever wanted to know about EBBC but were afraid to ask. Just in time for Bike to Work Day! If you've ever wanted to volunteer at the myriad events EBBC attends - club rides, streetside stations, festivals, then this training is a must. Come to the EBBC Outreach Training and learn ways to engage people, how to sign up new members, and more!

Draft of Minutes for April 21 Board Meeting

Tom Ayres convened the meeting, and the board approved the March minutes. A motion was approved to change Erik Jensen’s work contract with the EBBC to extend his hours to 40 per week. The board also authorized up to $800 for purchasing a two-bay trailer plus stanchions for Dave Campbell’s bike so we can move bike valet and other equipment.

came from the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, along
