Portland's 14-Step Bicycle Improvement Proposal

Author: bcomadmin

Date: November 3, 2007

In case you thought drizzle was the only thing standing in the way of making Portland a bicyclist’s nirvana, read the Willamette Weekly’s “Vicious Cycle: Portland is not so bike-friendly–But it could be.” It includes a 14-step program proposal for improvement that I encourage you to read before responding.

Before the East Bay cities adopt any of the 14 proposals, we should note that many are fraught with controversy. Also note any omissions (transit access is not on the list). I invite a healthy discussion of each item to sound out your opinions. Please share your priorities for thumbs-up proposals and explain any cautions for proposals that you would give a thumbs-down.
