Opening Day for Trails—the last Saturday in March—is a great way to get out, celebrate and hit your local trail! Bike East Bay, the Rails to Trails Conservancy, REI, Canogle, the Bay Trail Project, Rich City Rides and Bike Concord are collaborating on a series of local East Bay events to celebrate Opening Day for Trails.
Here in the East Bay we enjoy our trails and bike paths year-round. Opening Day for Trails is a change to celebrate the abundance of trails we enjoy locally, while connecting with this national day when folks around the country are beginning to enjoy their local trails.
We have three great rides for you across the East Bay:
- Ride with Bike East Bay along the Bay Trail from Oakland to the Rosie the Riveter Museum in Richmond for a walking tour led by Canogle. Space on the walking tour is limited so please sign up here. Meet at 10am at MacArthur BART
- Ride with Rich City Rides from Richmond BART to the Rosie the Riveter Museum in Richmond for a walking tour led by Canogle. Space on the walking tour is limited so please sign up here. Meet at noon at Richmond BART.
- Ride with BORP’s adaptive cycling group on the Bay Trail. Meet at 10:00am at the BORP Adaptive Cycling Center at 80 Bolivar Drive in Berkeley’s Aquatic Park, near the Bicycle/Pedestrian Bridge.
