[g2:1778 class=nowrap size=369]A lawsuit has been filed against the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) over its selection of the Pachecho alignment. Plaintiffs include: Planning & Conservation League, Transdef, Bay Rail Alliance, and the cities of Menlo Park and Atherton.
The EBBC has also taken a position against the Pachecho decision. As outlined in EBBC comments on the EIR, the Altamont alignment serves much greater population area, providing faster and more direct service. The Altamont’s new transbay rail crossing would provide an alternate transbay crossing, thereby alleviating overcrowding on a max-ed out BART transbay tube.
