Weigh in on draft strategies for regional climate action! The third and final public workshop will give participants an opportunity to learn more about the climate action strategy development process, review additional avenues to provide feedback, and participate in Q&A with project staff. There will be a deep dive into key regional climate strategies focused on building and vehicle electrification, composting, expanding urban green spaces, climate beneficial agriculture, and supporting renewable energy development.
Goals of BARCAP Initiative are:
GOAL 1 – Reduce Bay Area’s contributions to climate change to help achieve carbon neutrality by 2045
GOAL 2 – Create a healthier breathing environment and provide benefits to frontline communities
GOAL 3 – Take regional action to complement and build upon State and local climate action plans
GOAL 4 – Address important crosscutting issues that extend across multiple components of the plan
Your input will help the Air District understand community priorities and implementation considerations as they move towards finalizing the plan for regional climate action this fall. Be sure to mention consideration of bicycles and supportive infrastructure such as: safe and connected routes, accommodations for bike parking, bike storage, e-bikes and cargo bikes to name a few.
Can’t make the workshop? Opportunities for commenting via the Air District website will be open in July and we’ll post them on our website.
