The Alameda County Transportation Commission will host four in-person informational open houses and one virtual open house this spring, on the Oakland Alameda Access Project. Information and materials provided at these open house meetings will be the same.
This is a chance to learn about the project that is anticipated to begin construction early Fall 2025.
If you need language or other accessibility accommodations, please email the project team at OAAPCommunications@alamedactc.org at least 72 hours before the meeting you plan to attend.
About the Oakland Alameda Access Project
The Oakland Alameda Access Project (formerly called the I-880 Broadway-Jackson Project) proposes to streamline connectivity between the 880 freeway and the Webster/Posey Tubes, removing much of the existing car traffic that currently cuts through Chinatown on the way between Oakland and Alameda, improving safety and quality of life in these communities.
This project will include new 2-way protected cycletracks in Oakland on Oak Street (3rd Street to 9th Street) and on 6th Street (Oak Street to Washington Street), a new bike/walk pathway through the Webster Tube, new connecting bike/walk pathways to the Posey and Webster Tubes in Alameda, and additional bike/walk facilities in both Oakland and Alameda.
