The California Bicycle Coalition hosts the California Bicycle Summit every two years to bring together the people making our streets safer and our communities stronger. In between these in-person gatherings, we continue the conversation with Summit Sessions—a quarterly webinar series designed to bring timely discussions about policy, planning, and advocacy straight to your screen.
Slow Streets have emerged as an example of how grassroots actions can become successful, formalized programs that benefit the larger community. This Summit Session will feature presentations from two communities at different stages in their Slow Streets journeys. From San Francisco, KidSafe SF advocate Robin Pam will discuss the formalization of the Slow Streets program under SFMTA, the incorporation of performance metrics and how the program has changed through local advocacy. Shannon Hake from the San Francisco Metropolitan Transportation Agency (SFMTA) will discuss the design considerations for Slow Streets. In addition, Justin Hu-Nguyen and Robert Prinz from Bike East Bay will discuss a recent Slow Streets pilot the organization conducted in Berkeley, as well as the growing network in Oakland.
This is not a Bike East Bay event. For questions or comments please contact the organizers.
