Meet up at the Downtown Hayward BART station, east side plaza, at 10 AM on Sunday, October 19th, 2025.
Our Bike East Bay staff will provide an in-person tutorial on how to use the Pointz app to report bike racks in Hayward and elsewhere around the East Bay. Then attendees will head off in different directions to find and report as many racks as they can!
Participants will all receive an access code for a one-month Pointz Plus subscription, providing access to additional features. Several lucky attendees will also be chosen at random to win a new bike light!

About this project:
The City of Hayward wants to install more bike racks to give folks safer places to lock up when riding around town. However, they don’t yet have data as to where all the existing bike racks are, and they need your assistance!
By creating a map of all the existing bike racks in Hayward, this will enable other people be able to find and use them, and it will help city staff know where more racks are needed.
This project is an official collaboration between Bike East Bay, Bike Hayward, and the City of Hayward.
