A 44-year-old Oakland man was killed today when his bike was struck by a big rig near the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau reported that the man was struck at around 4:27 p.m. near the intersection of 66th Avenue and Joe Morgan Way, a short section of South Coliseum Way renamed this year to honor the baseball Hall of Famer.
The man was alive at the scene and taken to Highland Hospital, where he later died. The coroner did not release his identity because family members were still being notified.

I ride right past that spot on my daily commute. I rode by about an hour and a half after this apparently happened, and I had no idea (there were no police, no sign of a death.)
Tragic.
