At the Transportation, Water & Infrastructure Committee of Contra Costa County, your emails of support convinced staff to reconsider the Treat Blvd Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan, and to further evaluate continuous bike lanes and the public’s preferred option Concept 1B, shown right. This is good news and thanks to County staff for listening. Bike Walnut Creek and Bike Concord members made a big difference.
Next steps
The County has secured an additional $20,000 for further traffic studies and to conduct at least one more public open house, which will be key to fill with supporters of protected bike lanes. Look for an announcement soon about the public open house.
