Cycles of Change students ride to Fruitvale BART

  • No room for us!

  • Pick your poison, moving cars on the left, car doors on the right?

  • How far to Fruitvale BART?

  • We want bike lanes!

  • Our school is straight ahead.

  • Oh boy! Let’s ride to the park and Carmen Flores Recreation Center.

  • Didn’t the MTC allocate $2.6 million to Fruitvale Alive to fix this?

  • Its obvious that auto travel gets prioritized.

  • So this is what Level of Service analysis means for bicyclists’ safety.

  • Three car lanes between Foothill and International doesn’t make sense.

  • Is this how Oakland will implement the Energy & Climate Action Plan?

  • This is a priority bikeway in Oakland’s Bicycle Master Plan?

  • Now I understand that “Fruitvale Alive!” article in rideOn (July 2008).

  • Why were public calls and plans for bicycle and pedestrian safety ignored?

  • Did Oakland really change the contract at the eleventh hour?

  • WHAT CAN I DO TO CHANGE THIS?

Write to Oakland Council Members asking that they honor the public process by reincorporating bike lanes in the Fruitvale Alive project between Foothill and International.
