If you enjoy projects such as Dotson Family Marsh in Point Pinole, Albany Bulb improvements and McLaughlin Eastshore Park in Berkeley, vote yes on Measure FF.
Bike East Bay is supportive of Measure FF in large part because it will provide funding for pathway construction and maintenance, including closing gaps in the Bay Trail and adding regional connectivity for commuters and safe routes to schools.
The measure provides approximately $3.3 million per year to the East Bay Regional Park District to fund 50 new projects in 22 of the district’s parks (see full list below). More than 20% percent of the funds will go toward fire hazard reduction and sustainable forest management.
Measure FF is on the ballot in 11 communities in western Alameda County and western Contra Costa County. The measure extends the existing parcel tax of $12/year (Measure CC passed in 2004), which expires in 2020; the extension does NOT increase tax rates.
