Did you know January 15 is National Pothole Day? People who drive, bike, walk, and city officials all agree that potholes are dangerous, frustrating hazards that cause injury and expensive damage. The #PotholeChallenge is Bike East Bay’s way to encourage individual, direct action in making a difference in your city during the week of January 12-19.

We’re training neighbors from Contra Costa and Alameda County to report potholes as a way to improve our roads, call out inequitable infrastructure, and engage with our neighborhoods.

Take 3 actions to smooth out everyone’s ride and go from hazard to handled!

Pledge to Report a Pothole

Sign the pledge and we’ll send you a guide with the 5 essentials of an effective hazard report, proven to work in the East Bay. When you report a hazard, you help your city fix it

Join Bike East Bay staff in creating reports this weekend

We encourage people to create reports independently using the tools and information that apply to each jurisdiction available here, and would like to offer you the option to join us in these actions to report potholes in Richmond, Concord and Oakland.
