HAZARD REPORTING

Potholes, traffic signals that aren’t detecting bikes, glass in the bike lane… There are many non-emergency maintenance issues that can make bicycle trips more difficult.

The good news? You can help! Report problems, get them fixed, and prevent mishaps for everyone who bikes in that area.

Use the following resources for information on where to report and guidelines for making effective reports.

    • Other resources: Some cities accept hazard reports via other mobile app, website form, phone number, or email address. Find your city in our list below. If you aren’t sure who to contact or need help, please let us know.

Oakland “Top Ten” Monthly Potholes Reports

In 2012 we developed an agreement with the City of Oakland to improve bike safety by prioritizing ten potholes every month for repair, based on a list we sent to them. Oakland also agreed to automatically prioritize reports of potholes submitted along any designated bike lane or route in town.

Since then, over 1000 potholes have been filled as a result of this partnership, in addition to many thousands more that Oakland has filled proactively.

We re-initiated this partnership in 2024, and started tracking the locations beginning in September 2024 via the map below.

To have your Oakland pothole reports considered for this list, send them in via the free SeeClickFix app or website and include the word “bike” or “bicycle” in the report description to it will be flagged for us.

Use the hazard reporting guidelines listed above to help city crews find and address your issue.

Ten additional reports will be sent to Oakland staff on the 15th of every month.
