Join City of Pittsburg staff as they bring City Hall into the community to speak with residents and business owners about City projects, neighborhood projects, and local issues.
Pittsburg’s 2021 Active Transportation Plan has 39 references to protected bikeway upgrades in the plan’s project list. But within the past 5 years the city has built zero of them. We so far haven’t even seen plans for protected bikeways in Pittsburg, not even in several 30 million dollar roadway widening studies the city is working on.
We’d like to ask for Pittsburg to commit to implementing these recommendations from the city’s adopted Active Transportation Plan, and to coordinate with Bike East Bay on best practice design details. This could start with a list of five priority protected bikeway projects to incorporate as part of routine paving or other opportunities already in the works.
Please show up to support the needs of people who bike.
