Pledge to Ride
Join thousands of other Bay Area bicycle riders on Thursday, May 14 for the biggest biking day of the year!
Be a part of our growing bike movement! Take the pledge and be entered to win a bikey prize bundle. Plus, we’ll send you a map of Energizer Stations, bike offers and discounts.
Your pledge adds you to the total Bay Area count of bicyclists and helps build our movement for safer, more connected cities!
Nominate your 2026 Bike Champions of the Year!
Every year, each of the nine Bay Area Counties selects their own Bike Champion of the Year, recognized for their dedication to promoting bicycling as a primary mode of transportation and for their ability to inspire others in their local communities.
Do you know an incredible cyclist, policymaker, educator, or advocate who champions biking in your county? Nominate them by March 1. Winners will receive prizes and recognition Bay Area-wide!

What is Bike to Wherever Day?
Bay Area Bike to Work Day (BTWD) started over 30 years ago in 1994 to celebrate biking as a fun, healthy commute option—and to inspire non-cyclists to give it a try. It was also a chance to advocate for better bike infrastructure and safety across the region.
While every county goes big, the East Bay goes really big! Last year, over 12,100 East Bay riders joined us on Bike to Wherever Day, visiting our 120+ Energizer Stations to grab tote bags, treats and high-fives. See our recap here!
What happened to Bike to "Work" Day?
Over a million Bay Area residents live within five miles of their workplace—perfect for biking. With fewer people commuting to offices, we’re encouraging folks to bike for shopping, errands, and more—a simple way to get outside, breathe fresh air, and stay active. In a world grappling with climate change, pollution, and congestion, the real question is: “Why not bike?”
Is there only 1 day to celebrate?
No! May is Bike Month, so we’ll have fun events, challenges and giveaways all month long. Thursday, May 14 is special though, as its the 1 day to visit Energizer Stations and pick up your tote bag.
Energizer Stations make the day happen!
Last year, we hosted 120+ Energizer Stations alongside our local partners, all across the East Bay.
These community hubs are places to grab a limited-edition BTWD bag and celebrate the joy of riding a bike.
