We commute on them. We receive them for birthdays and holidays. We often let them collect dust in the garage. For millions around the world, however, the bicycle is access to education, health care, markets, and a better future.
With My Own Two Wheels, a feature-length documentary by Jacob and Isaac Seigel-Boettner (UCB 2010 and 2011), weaves together five stories from around the world into a single narrative about the bicycle as a vehicle for change.
The Blum Center for Developing Economies is bringing With My Own Two Wheels to the Pacific Film Archive Theater on Monday, February 7th at 7:30 PM. The directors, as well as representatives from Zambia-based World Bicycle Relief and Oakland-based Cycles of Change will be on hand for a post-screening Q&A.
A $5/student and $10/general public donation to World Bicycle Relief is suggested; no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
The PFA will start handing out tickets to those in line at 6:30, so get there early to ensure a seat!
