At the first Iron Horse Trail Public meeting we discussed the possibility of walking part of the proposed trail alignment through Pleasanton. On Wednesday Sept 29th at 3pm a small group of us and EBRPD board members will be walking the trail alignment from the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station to Stoneridge Dr. If you would like to join us for all or part of this walk before the night meeting, please meet us near the entrance of the BART station.
Also, if you know of any other individuals or concerned citizens in your HOA who would like to join us, please pass this invitation on to them. Thanks!

Your input is needed!
Safe routes to Dublin/Pleasanton BART on the way: the East Bay Regional Park District and the City of Pleasanton hosted the first of three public meetings for the Iron Horse Trail Feasibility Study, which proposes to close the “gap” in the Iron Horse Trail between the Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station to Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton. Once complete, the Bikeway will connect with 30 miles of existing Iron Horse Trail to the North and East. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the public to the project and solicit input on ways to best utilize the dedicated existing right-of-way. Since this bikeway is on both the Regional Bicycle Plan and the Alameda Countywide Bicycle Plan, your Bicycle Coalition will push hard to see that the project is completed and in a way creating a useful bikeway. We need your support and input. Read on.
The presentation and public comments from the June 22 public meeting regarding the Iron Horse Trail through Hacienda Business Park has now been posted on the City of Pleasanton’s web site and the East Bay Regional Park’s website at:
Powerpoint Presentation on the Iron Horse Trail Feasibility Study
There is much public support for the project, which will assist the East Bay Regional Parks District to move forward on the study. However, there are legitimate concerns from residents about maintaining the neighborhood friendliness of existing parks on the corridor and from cyclists about challenges to create safe crossings of the arterial streets of Hacienda Business Park and beyond.
