Meet the shuttle
The cute, 45-foot yellow pontoon shuttle is named Woodstock, and came to us all the way from Buffalo, New York. Once here, the vessel received modifications to comfortably accommodate more bikes and people in wheelchairs.
What About the Bike/Walk Bridge?
Yes we are still advocating for a bike/walk bridge across the estuary as the long-term solution, along with our parters at Walk Oakland Bike Oakland and at Bike Walk Alameda.
Our blog post from Summer 2023 with info all about the estuary bridge proposal is available here. Read up and then sign up for our Bridging the Bay Campaign list to receive updates and ways to get involved with this and other bike bridge projects.
The current 2-year estuary water shuttle pilot project is a great way to show that there is a lot of demand for a permanent bridge crossing, so use the free service and tell all your friends!
