The East Bay’s newest bike/ped bridge opened on October 2, 2010 over Treat Boulevard in Pleasant Hill

The grand opening of the new bike/ped bridge over Treat Boulevard in Pleasant Hill was terrific and a lot of fun for all. There was a huge community turnout and East Bay Board Member Dave Favello, Bike to Work Day volunteer Curtis Corlew and their significant others were some of the first to ride across the new bridge. The opening of the transit village was also a success. There were plenty of transit oriented organizations there, including several EBBC volunteers.

It’s Open Grand Opening Celebration of the Robert I Schroeder Bike/Ped Overcrossing of Treat Blvd and the Contra Costa Center Transit Village and at the Pleasant Hill BART Station. Food, tours and entertainment.

Members of the East Bay Bicycle Coalition are delighted to see the opening of a much needed bike/ped bridge over Treat Blvd, at the Pleasant Hill BART Station. The new bridge is beautiful (more beautiful than Berkeley’s bike/ped bridge?) and well designed as a connector for the Iron Horse Trail, a major regional bicycle route.

Come enjoy other cyclists on our new bike facility!
