Ribbon Cutting Celebration: Union City Blvd Bike Lanes

September 27 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
"Union City Boulevard BIKE LANE RIBBON CUTTING SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH | 10 AM - 2 PM DELAINE EASTIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL" photo collage of bicycles and a green bicycle lane

Join us on Saturday, September 27, from 10 AM to 2 PM for the grand opening of the Union City Boulevard Bike Lanes Project.

This milestone marks the completion of Phase I improvements from Smith Street to the southern City limits at the Alameda County Flood Control Channel Bridge, approximately 2.4 miles in length. The new roadway features painted buffer bicycle lanes.

The celebration will include partnerships with local food vendors, fun activities for the entire family, and a one-mile community bike ride/pedestrian walk.

This is not a Bike East Bay event, for question or comments please contact the organizers.

Two images. The first one reads: "Reconstructed median with new buffered Bike Lanes": shows a paved street with two main lanes for cars, and a buffered bike lane to the right. There's a sidewalk next to the bike lane where two people are walking, and trees line the road. Second image, "Modified “Complete Streets” Intersection": An aerial view of a redesigned "Complete Streets" intersection.
