Signature Gathering at Lake Merritt, Oakland

To avoid devastating Bay Area transit service cuts, we need to gather over 200,000 signatures to get Connect Bay Area Transit, the five-county regional transit funding measure, on the ballot!

Meet organizers from Connect Bay Area at the Lake Merritt Amphitheater at 10am for a quick training and to hand out petition supplies. After that, participants will head out to start collecting signatures in the area. Everyone is welcome to reconvene near the end of the event to share learnings and maybe even go together for a drink or bite (with each person covering their own tab). Or you can head out and return your completed petitions another day!

To see the most friendly faces and to join the group training session, plan to meet at the event start time. But if you’ve already attended a training (or if you complete online training in advance by reading our training guide then completing this form), you can stop by anytime before the end of the event to drop off completed petitions and/or pick up new ones. Your RSVP is helpful either way.

No experience necessary. You just need to be 18 years old to gather signatures.  If you’re under 18, let the event organizers know at connectbayarea26@gmail.com as there are many other ways to be involved and help!
