Trees are arriving at Frontage Road in just a few weeks. Come see how an experiment in green design and vegetative buffers could improve Prescott’s air quality.
Prescott is a pollution hotspot that deals with dangerous emissions from the highway, the Port of Oakland, and heavy industry. This intervention could not only change the air Prescott residents breathe, but how we think about designing our cities to minimize exposure.
Hear the plan for planting and maintaining trees.
Learn how we expect these trees to reduce air pollution–and how we’ll know if it works.
Share your thoughts on a road diet for Frontage Road. A road diet adjusts the width and number of lanes to calm traffic and make roads safer and more walkable. We don’t know if the Port of Oakland, the City of Oakland, and CalTrans will make a financial commitment to a road diet, but the first step is presenting them with a design that  reflects our community’s vision.
