Foothill Trail Community Open House

December 3 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
A poster titled "Foothill Trail Community Open House" with a map and event details. Map Description The map shows the proposed route of a new one-mile section of the Foothill Trail between Grove Way and A Street. The trail, highlighted in orange, starts near Grove Way, goes past a Caltrans Parcel Group 8, runs parallel to Foothill Blvd, and continues past Carlos Bee Park, the Hayward Area Senior Center, Hayward Japanese Garden, and ends near A Street at the location of a Future Pocket Park. Several dashed lines indicate property boundaries along the proposed route. Event Details The text announces a Community Open House (and Evento de Puertas Abiertas de la Comunidad in Spanish) to learn about the new trail section and provide feedback. Date and Time: Saturday, December 13th, 10 AM - 12 PM Location: Hayward Senior Center Meeting Rooms 1 & 2, 22325 N 3rd St, Hayward, CA 94546. The bottom right corner includes a smaller inset map showing a closer view of the trail passing Crescent Grove Apartments and leading to the Future Pocket Park. A QR code and a URL are provided for more information: https://www.haywardrec.org/1942/Foothill-Trails-Master-Plan. The logos for WRT and HARD (Hayward Area Recreation and Park District) are visible at the bottom.

The Foothill Trail will be a multi-use system of pathways and routes for connecting communities from South Castro Valley through the heart of Hayward to its southern city limit, and connecting with East Bay Regional Park District’s Garin Regional Park all by paralleling Mission Boulevard.

On behalf of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD) we invite you to join us on Saturday December 13th at the Hayward Senior Center between 10-noon to review the initial concept design of the Foothill Trail segment from Grove Street, through Carlos Bee Park, to a new pocket park on ‘A’ Street. This is your opportunity to learn more about this initial trail segment and provide feedback on what you’d like to see in the pocket park. Please share. Feel free to stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and noon for this community pop-up event.
