Demo Bikeways Coming to Four East Bay Cities

Author: bcomadmin

Date: April 26, 2022

Concord stages a demonstration bikeway on Pine Hollow Road April 27 at Pine Hollow Middle School, kicking off a year of popup bikeways in the East Bay. From 7:30am-6pm tomorrow, stop by and check it out. Then, on Saturday May 21, Walnut Creek stages a demonstration bikeway on N Wiget Lane at the connector path to the Ygnacio Canal Trial, 8am-1pm, as part of their weekly farmer’s market event. To volunteer for this popup, email Briana Byrne at byrne@walnut-creek.org.

Later this Summer, Bike East Bay is working with the City of San Leandro and Fehr & Peers, staging demonstration bikeways on Bancroft Avenue and Williams Street. San Leandro wants to know which of two bikeway design options you prefer. To volunteer for these, email advocacy@bikeeastbay.org. Finally, Livermore wraps it all up with an extended, multi day demonstration bikeway on East Avenue in the Fall. They are looking for community input on what features to test out. More info here. All four projects will learn from San Pablo’s successful demonstration bikeway last September on Broadway, shown here in video on Twitter.
