It’s clear that summer fun is already heating up, and there are lots of bike-friendly activities this weekend in the East Bay to prove it. From wine tasting to worm composting, wherever you live in the East Bay, you can ride your bicycle to one of these events… check out our calendar for a listing of all that’s going on.
EBBC will be offering Valet Bike Parking and outreach at two great, family-friendly events this weekend, and we need your help! Bike Parking and outreach at events are easy, fun ways to meet fellow bicyclists and let the people know about the important work EBBC does on behalf of bicyclists. If you’ve ever locked up a bike or handed someone a sticker, you can do it.
Sunday parking CANCELLED at Heather Farm Art and Wine Festival on Saturday and Sunday, June 6 & 7 in Walnut Creek: This is our biggest event this year East of Hills to introduce people to EBBC and sign up new members. Please sign up here for a volunteer shift – there will be plenty of good music to accompany you. And after your shift, don’t forget to take a look at the work of over 200 artists (and grab a glass of wine). We especially need volunteers for the Sunday shifts – help EBBC grow East of the Hills! We are extremely sorry that due to volunteer staffing shortfalls and a lack of funding for the popular service (250 bikes parked on Saturday), EBBC had to cancel offering Valet Bike Parking for Sunday. The parking racks will be available for self-serve parking.
Temescal Street Fair on Sunday June 7 in Oakland: Amongst the delicious food and creative crafts, we’ll be spreading the EBBC love. Please sign up here for a volunteer shift – if you went to this year’s Bike Away from Work Party, you know a Temescal Block Party is a blast.
At both of these events, we’ll be offering a free bike! Every person that renews their membership or signs up for a new membership eligible to WIN. If becoming a member or renewing your membership has been on your To-Do list, this is the weekend to do it! Come on out and join us in the fun this weekend.
