Bike Hayward mobilizes residents across Hayward and the Eden Area to transform our community into a true paradise for active transportation.
We advocate for safe streets for walking, biking, rolling, and transit throughout the city of Hayward and the unincorporated communities of Cherryland, Ashland, San Lorenzo, Fairview, Hayward Acres, and Castro Valley.
How we serve the community:
- Making Voices Heard: We rally the community to demand safer streets for all and represent resident interests on projects like the East Bay Greenway and the Hayward Loop.
- Building Culture: We make biking fun and accessible through social rides and free repair stations.
- Empowering Residents: We help residents navigate local government by simplifying complex project details, tracking key meetings, and sharing clear ways to take action. We also foster local leadership by supporting the Green Mobility Ambassadors program.

$15: The “Tune-Up & Talk-Up”
- Funds a bike tune-up at a repair tent and helps us “talk-up” our advocacy efforts to get more people excited to join Bike Hayward.
$35: The “Repair & Represent”
- Stocks our repair pop-ups with new inner tubes and helps our Bike Hayward team “represent” the community at Hayward City Council, Eden MAC, and Alameda CTC meetings.
$85: The “Workshop & Win”
- Powers our workshops and campaign efforts by helping us purchase materials, like posters and flyers, to build support for new bike lane projects or for training new local advocates.
$350: A Bike = One Less Car
- Gets a person off their car by helping them find a bike or do a major upgrade on their existing bike. This support helps keep people rolling, one bike at a time, as we build a stronger and growing bike community in our Eden Area.
$1000: Strong Town Legacy
- You get it: this is about more than just bikes. It’s about building a stronger, safer, and less isolated community that’s financially resilient. This is your investment in that legacy. While repairing car-centric infrastructure is costly, changing the mindsets that were forged by our car-centric environment is the bigger challenge.
