Fast-Track Safety in Berkeley

Author: Bike East Bay

Date: October 14, 2019

October 14, 2019

After two hit and runs in 12 hours last month, the time to fast-track improvements in Berkeley is long overdue.

Our partners at Walk Bike Berkeley are pushing Council to direct staff to include improvements for bicycle riders and pedestrians in all repaving projects, and expedite quick-build safety improvements for projects under $1 million. The idea is to start making Berkeley’s streets safe tomorrow, not 10 years from now. We support this sensible policy.

Attend the council meeting:

When: October 15, 6:00pm-9:00pm

Where: School District Board Room
1231 Addison St
Berkeley, CA

Optional: Meet up before, 5-7pm at Lanesplitter Pizza on San Pablo Ave @ University.

Can’t come? Contact Berkeley City Council ([email protected]), and urge them to adopt the new Bicycle Lane and Pedestrian Street Improvements Policy, item 41 on their agenda tonight (Oct 15).
