In this free 2-hour class, we explore the balance of Yin and Yang yoga with instructor Theresa Kelly.
The first part of class focuses on the “cold” tissues (ligaments and tendons specifically) with long-held, supported (Yin) postures. In the stillness of each pose, the breath becomes your guide through the sensations that arise. Yin is the feminine energy. Cultivating this energy in your yoga practice encourages patience, breath awareness, and thoughtful approach to all actions. Yin is particularly great for cross-training with biking because it lubricates joints and opens areas of stagnation, increasing blood flow. It allows time to drop in to any areas that may feel tight or tired from a good bike ride!
The second part of class is an all level flow (Yang) class that brings the heat into the muscles and gets your blood flowing.
