Learn about womyn’s history!
Join Bike East Bay member-volunteer ride leaders Gabi and Kat on an approximately 20 mile ride along the Bay Trail to visit historic and contemporary sites associated with prominent women, trans and femme people from the East Bay, including Esther’s Orbit Room, the Emeryville Shellmound, and the Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front Memorial. Optional longer final leg back to BART with a few more stops.
We will share stories and good times!
Bring a lunch plus snacks, and a healthy amount of water.
Meet at 9:45am at West Oakland BART (at 7th St and Center St). Ride rolls out at 10am. End at Richmond BART around 1pm.
This ride is part of Bike East Bay’s Women Bike program. Women Bike events are open to anyone who identifies as female, transgender, femme, genderqueer, trans-masculine, trans-feminine, or feels that their socialization or treatment as a woman/transperson/femme has impeded their participation in bicycling, or who has been marginalized or intimidated in these settings.
