During the emergency bridge closure, what are the transbay travel options for bicyclists?
If you have a folding bike, you may board any transit service at any time with your bike. Please visit Bay Bridge transit updates.
- BIKE STATIONS (guard your bike while you board crowded BART trains)
- E-LOCKERS (secure your bike while you board transit, lockers open with BikeLink cards. Availability is first-come, first-served.)
Purchase BikeLink cards online at www.capitolcorridor.org
FERRY SERVICE
Bikes are allowed on board the Harbor Bay Ferry and Alameda/Oakland Ferry to San Francisco. An expanded Alameda/Oakland service runs every 30 minutes from 6 am – 8:45 pm. View the schedule at www.eastbayferry.com. E-lockers available at Harbor Bay Terminal. Carry a bungee cord to secure your bike to the rear railing as the racks are likely to be jam-packed.
CALTRANS COMMUTER BIKE SHUTTLE
Expect delays as the shuttle must detour to the San Mateo Bridge. No increased service is being proposed and new passengers are not likely to find capacity to allow boarding. For information visit Bike Shuttle
