Save Your Bus! Take AC Transit's Survey

Save Your Bus! Take AC Transit's Survey

Like other public transit agencies, AC Transit is undergoing severe budget problems. With the elimination of state assistance for operations like salaries, maintenance, and gas they are looking at 15% service cuts just to stay afloat. They are asking riders to take a short survey to help them prioritize routes and to decide how and where to cut. This survey was also given out at the recent series of community meetings on service reductions.

description

There are several large potholes and ruts under and around I-80 on Central Avenue in Richmond (too many to count when passing this busy area!). Both cars and cyclists weaving around them can present hazards for themselves and others.

description

"No Parking" sign has been damaged; the sign placard is gone and the pole is bent over so that about 6 feet of it is horizontal about 2 feet off the ground. The end of the pole overhangs the curb by about 2 1/2 feet so that it obstructs the roadway in the area used by cyclists. Very dangerous because there's no large visual mass and it's in an unexpected location, thus very easy to overlook. A cyclist might strike it or might notice it at the last moment and swerve reflexively into the path of a car - drivers in that area interpret the speed limit quite loosely.
