A small sinkhole has formed near the edge of the bike lane on eastbound Vineyard Ave. approximately 100 yards west of Montevino Rd. The pavement in the area is new and in excellent condition, so this hazard is particularly unexpected and could catch a cyclist by surprise if they're distracted by traffic or other conditions.

The Committee will get a staff update on the Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan, updates on on-going projects, and hear an Iron Horse Feasibility Study report.

Pleasanton Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan Moves Closer to Adoption


The Bicycle Master Plan will be reviewed by the Parks & Recreation Commission on August 27, 2009. The final step in the review process will be review and adoption by the City Council, which is tentatively scheduled for September 15, 2009 [At the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee meeting held on June 17, 2009, the BPAC voted to approve the Draft Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan and forward it for further City reviews and approvals. The master plan was then reviewed and approved by the Trails Ad Hoc Committee on July 27, 2009. ] Once the master plan is adopted as the official policy document addressing the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities in Pleasanton, the projects within the master plan will be constructed as City funding or grant funding becomes available.

In every direction I've tried, the sensors at this intersection do not detect my bike, even if I position the wheel directly over the pavement cut for the sensor. Also, the green phase for Gibraltar is very short.

Turning left from Bernal to Case, the left turn sensor did not detect my bike. I had the wheel positioned directly over the pavement cut for the sensor, and waited through multiple cycles.
