Albany Beach Restoration and Public Access Feasibility Study

December 13, 2010 - 7:30pm to 9:00pm

The East Bay Regional Parks received a TIGER grant from the federal government. Some of this money will be put towards completing the section of the Bay Trail that's adjacent to Golden Gate Fields.

There will be an Albany Beach Restoration and Public Access Feasibility Study meeting (including discussion of the trail) on Dec. 13. from 7:30 to 9PM at the Albany Senior Center.

International Walk and Roll to School Day brightens Albany Students

On Wednesday, October 6, 2010, nearly 60 schools across Alameda County, including Albany, will take part in a regional and international celebration - International Walk or Roll to School Day. In the United States, nearly 5,000 schools from all 50 states will participate and nearly 40 countries around the

Walk and Roll to School Day emphasizes the message of building healthy bodies and strong communities. It raises awareness about safe walking and biking, increasing physical activity among children and families, and protecting the environment.

Albany Ped and Bike Plan Planning Charrette

Albany Strollers & Rollers LogoThe City of Albany is now accepting RSVPs to attend an all-day planning charrette for the ped and bike plans. This workshop will focus on identifying potential projects for ped and bike infrastructure enhancements in Albany. The City will conduct walking and biking audits and debrief observations to determine potential projects/ ped and bike network recommendations.

Women of WOBO Ride – Albany Bulb

Walk Oakland Bike Oakland is hosting a ride to the Albany Bulb, a former landfill-turned-unofficial-dog-park. It's a great place to get a view of the Bay, check out Burning Man-esque art installations, and relax after a ride along the Bay Trail. Participants should bring a snack to share, and possibly binoculars for checking out the birds. Any and all female-identified people are invited to participate.
