Whole Foods Development Project on Albany Planning Commission

The next iteration of the “Whole Foods” project process is coming to Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) on April 24th. The developer will be asking P&Z to recommend approval of the project appropriate to this stage, which I believe regards certification of the Environmental Impact Report, approval of the Planned Unit Development, and approval of a Development Agreement.

Albany Bike to Work Day ride with City Council, Commission and Committee Members, and City employees

May 10, 2012 - 7:30am to 8:30am

Albany Mayor Farid Javandel will lead a Bike to Work Day ride with City Council, Commission and Committee Members and City Employees, which the public is invited to join.
They will meet at 7:30 at City Hall (San Pablo and Marin), ride to the Waterfront via Buchanan St., the pedestrian/bicycle bridge and the Freeway Undercrossing. They will return to town up Buchanan, Marin and Masonic, touring some of Albany's cycling highlights and trouble spots.

Albany Arts & Green Festival - Free Bike Valet Parking & Tuneups!

This event, resulting from the merging of the Arts & Music Festival and Green Albany Day, contains the best of both events!
For the 5th straight year, Street Level Cycles will be providing free or low cost bike tune-ups to get your bike
Albany Strollers & Rollers ( www.AlbanyStrollRoll.org ) will again offer free Bicycle Valet Parking services sponsored by Bua Luang Thai Cuisine. The AS&R booth has information about bike commuting and bicycle/pedestrian advocacy & service in Albany.

Promote Bike Safety! hand out a “Check for Bikes” Vinyl Clings

Albany Strollers & Rollers ask you to help promote bike safety while raising awareness of bicyclists on the road by handing out “Check For Bikes” vinyl clings to motorists and encouraging them to install them in their car windshield or give/sell to your friends, neighbors, customers, clients and members.
