Moffett Field Bay Trail Grand Opening Scheduled for September 20

September 20, 2010 - 10:30am to 12:00pm

After many years of work, this opening will complete the missing link along a 26-mile continuous section of trail between East Palo Alto and San Jose. The trail opening is the culmination of years of collaboration among many different agencies and is one of several public access and recreation projects within the 15,100-acre South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project. Ride starts at Berkeley Bicycle Bridge at 9:15am, with a second start at Point Isabel at 10:00am

Explore the Bay Trail with Bay Trail Staff Members

Bay Trail staff will lead nine bike rides in nine weeks along various sections of the Bay Trail in September, October and November 2010 beginning on Thursday, September 9 after the fall Bay Trail Board meeting in San Francisco. Join us to see parts of the Bay shoreline you have never seen before!

San Leandro Bay Trail Slough Bridge Grand Opening

300th mile of the Bay Trail completed!

The newly constructed Bill Lockyer Bay Trail Bridge connecting Oyster Bay Regional Park with the Oakland Airport will be dedicated at 11:30 AM on Friday, May 7. The ceremony will also mark completion of the 300th mile of the San Francisco Bay Trail.

Come along and help us celebrate this major improvement to the Bay Trail that the East Bay Bicycle Coalition fought hard to get completed. Former EBBC Executive Director Robert Raburn will be on hand to speak and dedicate this new bikeway that links San Leandro with Oakland.

Women of WOBO Ride – Albany Bulb

April 11, 2010 - 10:00am to 1:00pm

Celebrate springtime with an excursion north to the Albany Bulb lead by Walk Oakland Bike Oakland. This former landfill turned unofficial dog park is a great place to get a view of the Bay, check out Burning Man-esque art installations, and relax after a ride along the Bay Trail. Participants should bring a snack to share, and possibly binoculars for checking out the birds. Any and all female-identified people are invited to participate.

Summary: SB 1061 amends existing law (Section 30915) and adds Section 30914.2 of the Streets and Highways Code. This bill would include, among the projects that may be funded from state-owned toll bridge revenues, a major project on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge consisting of a
bicycle-pedestrian-maintenance pathway linking the pathway on the replacement eastern span with San Francisco.

Women of WOBO: International Women of Mystery Ride

The next Women of WOBO (WOW) ride is in honor of International Women's Day. Join a tour around San Leandro Bay, Mostly following bicycle paths that are part of the Bay Trail. The International Mystery part means bring your favorite international snack to share! Depending on the weather, might stop and share on the edge of the Bay, or somewhere more protected. Any and all female-identified people are invited to participate.
