The City of Alameda has been awarded Bronze-level status as a Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists this week. This award shows Alameda is a community exhibiting a strong commitment to cycling specifically in the areas of Bicycle Evaluation and Planning, Encouragement and Education.
This was no small accomplishment. Lots of local participation as well as stacks of paperwork and research are just part of what it took for Alameda to gain this bicycle friendly city status.
