Caldecott 4th Bore Notice of Determination

[g2:894 class="right"]Caltrans has released the Environmental Impact Report for the Caldecott 4th Bore project. As feared, the agency has dismissed concerns of traffic impacts to local streets in Berkeley and North Oakland.

Phil Frank, 1943-2007

Sad news to report. Phil Frank, author of Farley comic strip has passed away. Farley ran in the Chronicle for 32 years.

Phil was a great supporter of bicyclists, and ran some hilarious episodes back in 1997 when the EBBC was fighting for bike access on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. He granted EBBC permission to reprint these episodes- click read more to view:

East Bay Bicycle Coalition joins Fourth Bore Coalition in lawsuit against Caltrans

On November 13, 2007, EBBC and the Fourth Bore Coalition (FBC) filed a lawsuit against Caltrans and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) on the grounds that the proposed 4th Bore does not comply with the California Environmental Quality Act. You can view a copy of the petition that FBC filed in Superior Court.
