Our own Jonah Chiarenza is the lead designer for  CD&A, the volunteer who designed the intersection of Grand Ave & Telegraph Ave for us, shown here. Stakeholder meetings are underway, as is data collection on current conditions, but we don’t expect initial design concepts until 2014. Meanwhile, we have many businesses to reach out to for support. East Bay Greenway Groundbreaking Celebration

October 4, 2013 - 10:00am to 11:00am

You are invited to the East Bay Greenway Groundbreaking Celebration on Friday, October 4, 10-11am at Coliseum BART Station, 7200 San Leandro St.

Meet up at Oakland City Hall at 9:00am with Oakland Public Works Director Brooke A Levin for an easy bike ride out to the groundbreaking ceremony. We’ll take the Bay Trail route along the Embarcadero to Coliseum BART Station. RSVP on Facebook.

Join the celebration as ground breaks on construction of the newest segment of the East Bay Greenway Project. This half-mile link in a 12-mile Class 1 bike/ped multiuse pathway will connect the Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART Station to 85th Avenue in Oakland. The East Bay Greenway path will travers some of the most under-resourced neighborhoods (read: ‘neglected’) in the Bay Area. It will run roughly parallel to the BART tracks from Oakland to Hayward (and hopefully all the way into Fremont, if Measure B gets reauthorized by voters in the coming years).

Please RSVP to Brenda Montano, 510.544.2200.

See you there!
