Telegraph closes to cars and opens to people on Sunday, August 11, and this one is special because it’s Bike Day.
Every Sunday for the past month and a half, Telegraph has become a people zone open for the delight of strollers, but Sunday, August 11 is special. Ride on down for ‘Bike Day’ sponsored by the East Bay Bicycle Coalition.
Come experience Telegraph by bike, and while you’re there, enjoy bike-powered smoothies, get your bike tuned up by the Bike Mobile, get your photo snapped with your pedal-powered beauty, and enter yourself for prize with the free bike valet for person who bikes the farthest to Telegraph. The bike fun and valet will be set up on Channing right at Telegraph, with on-street bike parking corrals on Telegraph.
While you’re there, the East Bay Bicycle Coalition wants to hear from you about what bike improvements you want in Berkeley. Berkeley is updating its Bicycle Plan starting in 2014, so now’s the time to start thinking about your vision of Berkeley becoming the most bike-friendly city in the US.
